Five of our Favorite Favors
Raise your hand if you want to cry every time you see a jordan almond?
Friends - here's a little truth when it comes to wedding favors - they aren't necessary. Yes, we love that you're thinking of your guests & looking to thank them again for coming to celebrate your big day, but the reality is a lot of wedding favors end up forgotten and left on the table at the end of the night. So before you spend a couple hundred dollars on jordan almonds or custom printed chocolate bars that will be cleaned up by venue staff at the end of the night, we want to show you five of our favorite wedding favors that can reflect your unique love story and are sure to be snatched up by your guests!
1. A family recipe
There's nothing more heartfelt than something made right in your own kitchen with a secret family recipe. Whether it's your Grandma's chocolate chip cookies or caramel candies you make every Christmas, package up your sweet treats with a note for your guests thanking them for celebrating with you! (A quick logistics note - make sure you check the food guidelines with your venue, some venues will not allow edible favors that were not prepared in an industrial kitchen or by a licensed company. If that's the case, see if you can provide the recipe to the venue for them to prepare!)
2. Something seasonal
Are you getting married in the gardens during the heart of summer? Package up some seeds or gift your guests a small rosemary plant and thank them for helping your love "bloom"! Throwing a fall affair? Package up beautiful caramel apples for guests to pick up on their way out. Keeping your favor seasonal helps round out your theme while keeping the budget in check!
3. Something to eat
Food. The ultimate way to any guests heart. Whether it's a s'mores kit, a treat bag filled with your favorite candies or a late night snack for guests to grab on their way out the door, the gift of food is sure to be enjoyed and remembered by your guests! (Looking to go the extra mile? Keep your vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free friends in mind and prepare treats that everyone can enjoy!)
4. Something to keep the party going
Do you know your guests are going to want the party-vibe strong into the early hours of the morning? Gift your guests with little cocktail kits or mini bottles of champagne! Add a custom tag with a thank you note and your wedding date and your sure to thrill your guests! (Bonus points if you include a packet of aspirin for the next morning!)
5. A donation to your favorite charity
A personal favorite of ours, a donation to your favorite charity not only does a little good in the world, but lets your guests know what matters most to you and your Mr.! So whether it's to the rescue where you adopted your favorite four-legged friend or to the community garden where you two love to volunteer, spread a little extra love to those who need it most on your wedding day!
