Breanne + Jason's Classic Spring Country Club Wedding
Planning Breanne and Jason’s wedding celebration was the perfect start to our 2018 season.
If you’ve followed along with ALD for awhile, then you already know our beautiful friend and photographer, Breanne. Breanne is sweet, gracious, and captures beautiful moments for every one of her couples, so when B got engaged we jumped at the chance to design and plan a wedding celebration worthy of her photography for her and Jason.
As a couple, Breanne and Jason are a warm, kind, and thoughtful duo, with love for timeless style and meaningful details which made planning and designing their wedding an absolute joy (have we mentioned the perks of planning a photographer’s wedding?). Throughout our months of planning we helped to curate details that told the story of B+J - from the little things like the fabric from Breanne’s grandmother’s wedding dress wrapped around her bouquet or the favors from Jason’s home town - to the big ones, like an overall design that would look just as classic and elegant on the day of the wedding as it would fifty years later.
Every meeting with B+J was filled with laughter, so it came as no surprise that their wedding day was much the same. So on April 21, 2018, with a team of amazing vendors by our side (another perk!), we welcomed Breanne and Jason into married life with a celebration as enduring as their love. Today, we’re sharing some of our favorite moments from the day, captured by the incredibly talented Niki Marie Photography. Enjoy!
From the beginning of our time together, Breanne had a distinct vision in mind for their day - with classic black and white, and hints of navy and blues. Breanne’s mother helped to print and assemble their invitation suite - found on Etsy.
We loved incorporating thoughtful details throughout the design, so naturally when Breanne mentioned that she wanted fabric from her grandmother’s wedding dressed wrapped around her bouquet, we were thrilled. Ladies, note to selves, save your wedding dress so your future granddaughter can do the same! Breanne’s bouquet was the perfect reflection of springtime, filled with roses and beautiful peonies (yes, please!) with her maids carrying slightly smaller versions of the same.
Breanne and Jason spent the morning of their wedding getting ready at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester Hills, MI. The balcony off Jason’s roomed served as the perfect spot for their first look. If we haven’t said it enough, first look’s are the best part of the day.
One showstopping detail of the day? Hugo. That beautiful 1949 Packard from Motor City Vintage Rentals sitting behind Breanne and Jason. Following their first look, Breanne and Jason were picked up by Hugo and escorted to their ceremony. Not only did this create some beautiful photos, but it also created space for Breanne and Jason to share a few moments alone before exchanging their vows in front of friends and family. The perfect way to calm any last minute nerves!
B+J were married at the charming and historic Hope Chapel in the town where they live. Breanne and her dad walked down the aisle as Train’s Marry Me played sweetly in the background. Not a dry eye was found in-sight. Breanne and Jason exchanged handwritten vows in front of their closest friends and family. And then they were officially husband and wife!
Breanne and Jason jumped back into Hugo after being showered with rose petals and sped off to their reception for more pictures with the bridal party and a little celebrating before the reception officially began. Our favorite part of the afternoon? The visit from Breanne and Jason’s Goldendoodle, Brinkley (yes, just like You’ve Got Mail).
To create Breanne and Jason’s refined and elegant reception, we focused on classic colors (ivory, black, navy, and gold) with some unexpected accents like the scalloped detail on the head table linen and votives or the beautiful taupe taper candles that lined the head table. The florals were a mix of springtime favorites like hydrangea and roses, and candles filled every table to create a warm atmosphere for guests despite the little spring chill in the air.
The gorgeous cake by Cake Ambition was truly stunning, with a gorgeous floral sash set down the front of the cake.
For their First Dance, Breanne and Jason swayed to Michael Bublé’s Crazy Love while the evening light streamed into the windows surrounding the dance floor. Later in the evening, Breanne shared a dance with her father that quickly turned into a dance with both of her parents. The sweetest moment. Jason danced with his mother, and then, before the dance floor opened, Breanne surprised her grandfather with a special dance. Their love of family was so palpable, y’all.
Before they danced the night away, Breanne and Jason snuck out for a few last pictures with the glow of the setting sun behind them.
Rockout Entertainment kept the party going all night (before the most epic carnival-themed late night snack!) and Jason and Breanne danced the night away as newly minted Mr. and Mrs. — a truly magical evening for us all!
